The Wonderful World Art Gallery has had the honor of showcasing works from some of the most renowned talents in illustration, from the legendary Dr. Seuss to the modern day marvels, Rob Reger and Buzz Parker, and now the WWA Gallery has the chance to continue this proud tradition by giving the public a rare glimpse at the wildly imaginative illustrations of Maurice Sendak.
Having had a long and illustrious career working in a wide variety of artistic venues, such as several animated television series and countless theater and opera set designs; Maurice Sendak is most famous for penning and illustrating the beloved children’s book, “Where the Wild Things Are.” His distinct style and his willingness to delve into the more frightening realms of a child’s imagination set Sendak apart from other illustrators and have made him an inspiration to many young artists.
